Barber? Hair stylist?
Hi, I’m Eddie. When I introduce myself to people for the first time, I choose my career title based on who they are. Sometimes I say, "Hey, I’m a barber." Other times, I say, "Hey, I’m a hair stylist." The reason for this is that there are very different vibes and techniques associated with each term: barber, haircutter, hairdresser, and hair stylist.
Barbers often focus more on skin fades and beard grooming, offering a cool, hip vibe—sometimes even with whiskeys. Hair stylists, on the other hand, tend to be more creative with lengths and offer a more relaxed atmosphere.
At Eddie’s Edition, we have over 20 staff members from diverse backgrounds, including trendy barbershops and upscale hair salons. What I’ve observed is that these are two different worlds. One person’s strongest skill might be another’s weakest. So, we strive to share and blend these strengths, creating our unique style: fades like barbers and craftsmanship like stylists.
I sometimes visit other barbershops and hair salons to experience and learn from their unique services and vibes. I always enjoy discovering their character and backgrounds.
A tip for choosing your barber or hair stylist is to understand their background. Work photos often tell you a lot about their style and expertise. At Eddie’s Edition, we’re working on making it easier for our customers to explore this information on our website. Stay tuned for exciting updates!
Whether you're looking for a sharp, modern fade or a creative, relaxed style, our team at Eddie’s Edition is here to provide the best of both worlds. Come visit us and experience the perfect blend of barber and stylist expertise.
